A firetruck stands guard near the brushfire in Coeymans on Monday.
COEYMANS – Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene of a brush fire through the night, but they say things are mostly under control.
The fire broke out along Biers and Stanton Road, shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday.
Around 75 firefighters from departments in Albany and Greene Counties were called in to help fight it.
Six DEC forest rangers were also called in to help coordinate things.
NewsChannel 13 had a crew there earlier in the day, but was kept away by a man who said he owned the property.
As of late Monday afternoon, fire officials say the fire had been contained to 12.7 acres.
There are no reports of serious injuries or damage.
