On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a $5 million grant for the Trudeau Institute in Saranac Lake. The money will go towards expanding the biomedical research done there in partnership with Clarkson University.

Governor Cuomo also traveled to the Tug Hill region, east of Lake Ontario, to promote snowmobiling.

He unveiled a new four point $5 million advertising campaign called "I Snowmobile New York."

It is part of the governor's plan to boost tourism across the state, which brought in about $61 billion this year.

The ads will begin running after the first of the year in national newspapers and trade magazines.
