One topic that was not discussed during the State of the State was hydraulic fracturing.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is still deciding whether to lift a ban on the drilling process for natural gas.

Polls show voters in New York are evenly divided on the issue.

Opponents of hydrofracking held a rally outside the capitol while the governor was speaking.

They want Mr. Cuomo to keep the ban in place to protect the environment and public health.

“No decision is a good decision but a decision to ban would be even better because us progressive folk have other things to do, like livable wage and fair elections and stuff like that. So we want a decision and we want the right decision,” says protester Sandy Steubing.
