A pair of state lawmakers and some special guests unveil new legislation to fight obesity in teens.
Senate leader Jeff Klein and Assemblyman Felix Ortiz say the goal is to make sure teenagers understand a proper diet and how much exercise is needed every day.
Olivia Ward, winner of season 11 of NBC's “The Biggest Loser” says these initiatives can go a long way.
“I'm so passionate and excited to be a part of any type of program that's going to empower teens, 'cause lets face it when you're a teen you don't feel like you have a whole lot of power over much in your life, but one thing you do have power over is the choice of how you live your life in an active manner and what you eat,” said Ward.
She and season 11 runner up Hannah Curlee also held fitness demonstrations on Wednesday at the Legislative Office Building.
