The debate over Common Core is heating up again at the State Capitol.
NewsChannel 13 received press releases on Tuesday from Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, and from State Senate Leader Dean Skelos.
Both called on the State Education Department to delay the rollout of the new learning standards for at least two years.
Board Of Regents Chancellor Merryl Tisch and Education Commissioner John King responded by saying that the implementation of common core is under review and recommendations will be made next week.
