Due to the storm, state offices have closed in both New York State and Massachusetts.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday afternoon that state employees could go home early. State employees in the Capital Region were dismissed on a staggered scheduled between 3:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. State offices were let out at 3:45 p.m. in the Hudson Valley and Catskill area.

In Massachusetts, Gov. Deval Patrick closed state offices in several counties, including Berkshire County.

Gov. Patrick says the winter has already blown through the state’s $43 million budget for snow and ice. He is now asking for more funding from legislature to make the difference.
