LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Women’s Basketball shot just 28.8% from the field as Fairfield defeated the Saints 57-47 in front of a crowd of 1,191 on National Girls and Women in Sports Day at the ARC.

Fairfield (19-8, 14-4) received a balanced scoring effort as four starters scored in double figures in leading the Stags to their seventh straight win.

Ida Krogh posted team-highs of 12 points and seven rebounds for Siena (7-20, 2-16) which has lost nine in a row at home.

Fairfield held a slim 29-27 lead after a back and forth first half that featured five ties and seven lead changes. But the Stags opened the second half on an 11-3 run to go up by double digits which proved to be too much to overcome.

Siena was able to keep within striking distance for most of the game thanks to winning the battle of the glass against the bigger Stags, 40-32. Sixteen offensive rebounds helped pace the Saints to a 14-1 edge in second chance points.

Katie Cizynski posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Fairfield and Felicia DaCruz added 13 points and eight assists for the Stags which have won five of the last six meetings in Loudonville.

Tehresa Coles scored all eight of her points in the first half and swiped four steals, while Kelsey Booth added eight points off the bench for Siena.

The Saints host Saint Peter’s Friday at 7 p.m. at the ARC in the final home game of the season. Prior to tip off the team will honor its five seniors with a special Senior Day ceremony.
