COLONIE - South Colonie School District leaders say they have some tough budget decisions to make. The district says there are no good options as school aid continues to decrease.

This year varsity football coach Bill Roemer and one of his assistants have been told their jobs are in jeopardy because of budget cuts.

Some parents at a budget meeting Tuesday night say that can't happen.

“We’re not saying that, you know, any one cut is more important that another. We’re just asking the board to take a look at the bigger picture outside of the papers and the numbers and the shear finances of how this could impact the community,” said Colonie Junior Raiders coach Andre Ellman.

Roemer also set up the Colonie Junior Raiders program to get kids involved in sports at a young age.
