ALBANY - One year after spending just over $60,000 to lay down new sod in West Capitol Park, the state is tearing up some of that sod.
NewsChannel 13 Waste Watchers found crews doing the work Thursday morning.
We asked the Office of General Services why.
They said a small portion of the park was damaged during the St. Patrick's Day Parade, blaming a combination of wet lawn and lots of people.
They estimate materials for the repair will cost about $3,900.
Repairs were needed last year after a Safe Act rally tore up the lawn.
