Fatal Saratoga crash leaves two dead

SARATOGA - State police are investigating a fatal crash.

It happened around 2 p.m. Friday on Burgoyne Road, near the intersection with Hayes Road.

According to Saratoga State police, the investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was 30 year old male, Mervyn Albert of Schenectady operating his 2005 Mazda 3 traveling west bound on Burgoyne Rd at a high rate of speed.

Albert lost control of his vehicle and veered off the north shoulder of the roadway,  becoming airborne and strikes a large tree.

Albert and the passenger in the vehicle, his mother, 56 year old Angeli Persaud also of Schenectady, were both pronounced deceased at the scene by Saratoga County Coroner Thomas Salvadore. 

Schuyler Hose Company and General Schuyler Emergency Squad assisted at the scene.
