Living -- aging -- finding treasure

I came across some interesting 'reads' .. one was a memoriam to Jessie Gruman,  a woman who was, at the very least, a patient advocate - but really so much more. Her voice encouraged people's engagement in their health care, educated journalists and hopefully helped physicians better interact with and support their patients. That much I learned from reading her obituary .. her website Center for Advancing Health is a font of info.

One of the people quoted in her obit said that Gruman wasn't dying - rather living until she didn't. Even to her last breath she was teaching... that we can spend our energy on tomorrow or invest it in today ..

And from that website I found another site - aimed at taking the fear out of aging - or at the very least - helping us age the best we can. While Ms Gruman took unrestricted funds to cover the cost of her work ( in that she wasn't beholden to others ) the get old site is sponsored by Pfizer the pharmaceutical company. But that doesn't mean, de facto, that it's bad. Actually, it's filled with easy to use info.

So do I have a point - well, I'm reminded of the comment our veterinarian made when our old dog was diagnosed with cancer -- "Don't hang crepe before it's time" ... So live each day and if you're discerning you can find gold in pots that, at first glance, may not appear to hold value.
